Albania’s Council of Ministers approved the decision of “expropriation in the public interest for the owners and possessors of real estate, personal property, affected by the implementation of the project” Northern Boulevard and rehabilitation of Tirana River, Phase I of “, in the Municipality of Tirana.
Implementation of this project appears vital for the further development of capital infrastructure and direct impact on enhancing the welfare and rapid economic development of Tirana Municipality. For this purpose, in full satisfaction of the realization of investment projects and national or local , as defined in Article 8, paragraph 2 of Law no. 8561 dated 22.12.1999 “On expropriation and making temporary use of private property for public interest”, the Municipality of Tirana presented to the Ministry of Interior request for expropriation in the public interest to real estate affected by this construction.
For the implementation of the project “Rehabilitation Boulevard and North River Tirana”, phase I, the Municipality of Tirana, after technical analysis conducted by the technical working groups established in the Municipality of Tirana, it was deemed necessary to expropriate real privately owned lands with total area of 38,642 sqm and 204 buildings constructed, owned or private possession.
